Election day is approaching on November 8, and Turn Up Turnout seeks to answer all of your voting questions.

Turn Up Turnout is a nonpartisan organization focused on student voter education, registration, and turnout for presidential, midterm, and local elections. Students from UM Ann Arbor, UM-Dearborn, UM-Flint, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University joined hands to create an easy guide to voting in the 2022 general election.

For the upcoming election, Turn Up Turnout reached out to university board and judicial (Supreme Court and State Appellate Courts) candidates with some of the most important questions voters have for their candidates, such as their qualifications and their plans in addressing pressing issues.

Candidates were sent the same 3-4 questions with a 150-word limit to their responses. Turn Up Turnout then organized those responses into an easy-to-navigate college voter guide for students in hopes of “getting students more informed and ready to vote” regardless of political affiliation.

Additionally, Turn Up Turnout regularly sponsors nonpartisan educational events throughout the University of Michigan’s tri-campus system to increase civic engagement, like workshops, tabling events, Dinners for Democracy, and Ten Tuesdays.
